Father Reiser is the founding pastor of Epiphany Parish. In 1964 he was asked by Archbishop Binz to start a parish in Coon Rapids, and he chose a large acreage on the corner of Hanson Blvd and 111th Avenue.
The first thing built on our complex was Epiphany School, which was also used as the sanctuary, until our main church could be completed.
Father Reiser began with just a few hundred families and under his guidance the parish grew to over 5000 families, the largest Catholic parish in the five state region.
The Epiphany complex now contains many of the things Father Reiser dreamed about back in the 60's and 70's - the school educates over 800 children from Kindergarten through eighth grade; connected by an indoor link are the senior apartments, and also the newly opened assisted living building. Our complex also includes a large gift center, youth rooms, religious ed offices, meeting rooms, an adoration chapel and a beautiful sanctuary which seats almost 2000 people. Our grounds have prayer gardens, a large Fatima shrine, ball fields and playgrounds.
Father Reiser officially retired in March of 2001 after over 50 years as a priest.
