Small Group Ministry

Register for Small Groups
Starting first week in October except EPIC is September

$25 per person per study

Mon: 7-8:30 p.m. / All Invited / 8 Sessions at Epiphany

Become aware of God’s presence in your life. Discover the simple yet profound steps of Catholic prayer. Learn how to respond to God and express yourself in prayer. Discover how to hear God’s voice in Scripture, in your heart, and in ordinary moments. Learn how to overcome frustrations, distractions, and dryness in prayer. See that desolation and consolation are a normal part of everyone’s walk with God.

Starts September 11
Mon: 8:45-10:30 a.m. / All Invited / 10 Sessions at Epiphany

This series provides a powerful and engaging experience for students as they journey through the origins of our Catholic Faith. When used in conjunction with The Early Church Study Set, these dynamic presentations by Church history professor Steve Weidenkopf deliver a compelling and inspiring learning experience that is sure to draw students both closer to Christ and closer to his Church!

Tues: 8:45-10:30 a.m. / Women / 6 Sessions at Epiphany

An extraordinary 33-day journey to Marian consecration with four giants of Marian spirituality: St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximilian Kolbe, Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, and Blessed Pope John Paul II. Fr. Gaitley masterfully summarizes their teaching, making it easy to grasp, and simple enough to put into practice. More specifically, he weaves their thoughts into a user-friendly, do-it-yourself retreat that will bless even the busiest of people.

Thurs: 8:45-10:30 a.m. / All Invited / 7 Sessions at Epiphany

This series will help you experience a deeper relationship with the Person of the Holy Spirit, and as you come to experience God’s presence and power this very same Spirit will transform you and bring you freedom. The Holy Spirit has been given to us not as a possession to be tamed or controlled, but rather as a Person that will lead us to the Heart of God.

Fri: 7-9 p.m. / Young Adults 18-35 yrs / 10 Sessions at Epiphany

With humor and ease, Father Michael Gaitley, MIC, deftly unlocks the “one thing,” the key to the Church’s wisdom, and the greatest mystery of the Catholic faith: the Most Holy Trinity. Far from being a scholarly or academic read, The “One Thing” is Three makes deep theology accessible to every-day Catholics. What’s more, it makes even what’s familiar or forgotten appear in a way that’s new, exciting, and relevant.

Mon: 6-8 p.m. / All Invited / 10 Sessions at Leader’s Home

One could say that the historical books tell the “outside” of the story of Israel by giving an historical perspective, while the Psalms tell the “inside” story, which comes from the deeply personal perspective of one who is seeking God. Our communication with God is enhanced by a deeper understanding of the book of Psalms and of the individual psalms that reside in each of our hearts.

Mon.: 7-8 p.m. / Men / 10 Sessions at Epiphany

History has accused wartime pontiff Pius the Twelfth of complicity in the Holocaust and dubbed him “Hitler’s Pope.” But a key part of the story has remained untold. Told with heart-pounding suspense, based on secret transcripts and unsealed files, Church of Spies throws open the Vatican’s doors to reveal some of the most astonishing events in the history of the papacy.

Wed: 7-9 p.m. / Women / 12 Sessions at Leader’s Home

Lord, Teach Me to Pray is a prayer series based on Ignatian Spirituality. Part 1 of the series is “Praying Christian Virtues”, which will introduce you to the meditative and contemplative way of prayer developed by St Ignatius of Loyola. In this facilitated, faith-sharing community you will develop a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord, as He, himself, will teach us to pray!

All groups are $25 per person for each study.

NEW Small Groups for 2017

We are currently looking for Small Group Facilitators for the fall of 2017 (Oct-Dec.) No need to be a theologian or expert!  We will help you choose materials, find members and run a successful study.

Formed.org contains many studies, although any study which is expressly Catholic would be acceptable.

Deacon Bruce's Bible Study

Ephesians: Discover Your Inheritance

One of the most remarkable things about our Faith is that by God’s grace, we have become his adopted sons and daughters. Because of this, we are the heirs of all our heavenly Father’s divine promises and blessings. In your day-to-day life, what does it mean to be a son or daughter of God? When you sit in the pews each Sunday, what does it mean to be part of his family, the Church?

Paul’s letter to the Ephesians reveals the amazing inheritance we have been given. I invite you to uncover the amazing gifts God has given you by joining us for Ephesians: Discover

Your Inheritance, an eight-week Bible study beginning on October 5. You will not only discover your unique gifts and calling as a member of Christ’s Church; you will also help us to grow in fellowship as a parish as we grow closer to Christ together.

Participants of Ephesians: Discover Your Inheritance will receive a workbook (included in your $25 registration fee) and will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship. The eight 30-minute videos, presented by Jeff Cavins, will guide you through St. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, helping you discover the great inheritance that awaits us as sons and daughters, adopted fully into the family of God.

Registration will start August 5.  If you have questions contact Suzanne Lewis at 763.862.4336 or slewis@epiphanymn.org.

Small Groups of 5-12 adults gather in a location and time of their choice to socialize, study, pray and grow in the Catholic faith.

For on-site groups, rooms will be held at the parish. Most groups will meet on a weekly basis from October-December, break around the holidays, and then have the option to begin a new study and meet from January-April.
